Bewsey Old Hall

The planning application to build apartments in the grounds of Bewsey Old Hall and turn Bewsey Old Hall itself into a private apartment block was refused in 2008 by Warrington Borough Council`s Development Control Committee.   The developers Urban Splash have appealed against this decision and the appeal will be heard at a Public Inquiry in a few months.   Penketh Parish Council Chairman  Cllr Allin Dirir says;   " The Parish Council will be leading the campaign to save this wonderful  Grade 11* listed  building which is part of Warrington`s heritage and must be preserved as a Visitor Centre. Future generations ,in particular children, should be allowed to visit it and learn about its history which dates back to the 13th Century. We are determined to do our best to stop this.....

The date for the Public Enquiry has now been set for 10am on 12th May and will last for two days.Venue is The Sponsors Lounge,Hall of Fame Lounge,

Halliwell Jones Stadium,Warrington Wa2 7NE. If you wish to speak you MUST attend by 9:30 and register your intention.
